Xentel Presents Country Superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
CALGARY, ALBERTA, June 7, 2000 - XENTEL DM Incorporated (CDNX:XDM) today announced signing two concert dates on the summer 2000 Soul 2 Soul Tour. Billed as "the country music event of the summer", Soul 2 Soul presents Academy of Country Music "Best Female Artist", Faith Hill, and "Best Male Artist", Tim McGraw in exciting new solo and duet performances. Faith Hill is celebrating enormous, multi-platinum cross over success with her blockbuster single, Breathe, from the collection of the same name which debuted at #1 on The Billboard Top 200 and Country Chart. Hill's second single from Breathe, The Way You Love Me has hit #1 for the third week in a row. In the past four months alone, Hill has performed at Super Bowl XXXIV, The Academy Awards, The Grammy Awards, VH1 Diva's 2000 and most recently at the Association of Country Music Awards, where she was crowned Top Female Vocalist for the second consecutive year. Tim McGraw is one the best-selling and most prolific male touring acts in country music history. Since his debut in 1994 with the multi-platinum album, Not a Moment Too Soon, which sold over 6 million copies and included hits Indian Outlaw and Don't Take the Girl, McGraw has had 14 singles hit #1. His current award-winning album of the year, A Place in the Sun, debuted at #1 on both The Billboard Top 200 and Country Album Charts. McGraw is one of only five other male entertainers to win the coveted Country Music Association Album of the Year for two consecutive years (1998 and 1999). The Soul 2 Soul tour concept has been under development by Hill and McGraw over the last 6 months. Lighting and set design will be directed by Roy Bennett, whose diverse creations have graced the stages of Tina Turner, Prince, Nine-Inch Nails and many others. As part of the tour they will be performing in the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 28 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets will be available June 17 at the Delta Center box office and Ticketmaster.
