Andy Childs

Andy Childs was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee - a hair’s breadth away from legendary musical landmarks like Beale Street, Blues Alley, Graceland, and Sun Studio. Learning to play guitar and piano by ear as a child, he began performing professionally in his mid-teens at a Memphis area amusement park. The popularity of this show led to some television appearances, and then major State Fairs across the country. Andy’s show, which featured soul-inspired renditions of the best of Memphis music, caught the attention of the Tennessee Tourism Department. Andy was then hired to record a "jingle" for Tennessee ("Come to Tennessee"), and to perform a series of shows promoting Tennessee Tourism across the United States, Canada, and Europe.
In the mid-80’s, Childs served as music director and opening act for a series of Nostalgic Rock’n’Roll tours featuring stars like Chubby Checker, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Fabian, Frankie Avalon, and many others. Through these appearances, Childs began to gain a nationwide following of his own. Several appearances on Ed McMahon’s Star Search expanded this following and eventually led to a recording contract.

In 1993, Andy was signed to RCA Records in Nashville, and released his first national country album which featured three chart singles and music videos. The next couple of years found Andy touring with country stars Clint Black, Trisha Yearwood, Tanya Tucker and others. Network television appearances since then include TNN, CMT, VH-1, The Family Channel, ABC, NBC, and many syndicated programs as well.

Andy Childs continues to tour across the country and abroad while working on new recordings in Memphis and Nashville. Off-time is spent with his wife and sons at his Memphis home.
